Utilizing Net-Results has its obvious online marketing advantages, but how do you take your marketing to the next step efficiently and cost effectively? One of the most effective ways to integrate Net-Results with outside and interactive efforts is to use it to promote, register, track and analyze webinars, seminars, or interactive events. By utilizing Net-Results for your event marketing, you have the ability to integrate your event registration, email marketing, post event analysis, and website tracking of event attendees and registrants, all in one platform.

The first step to getting the word out to your prospects about your upcoming event is to create your email invitation campaign in Net-Results. You can not only create a standard email campaign, but an action based campaign that will track whether or not a recipient has signed up for your event either through your email or through a registration form on your site. If a recipient does not register, Net-Results can be set up to automatically send them another set of emails until they elicit the desired response. Net-Results will of course also track all opens, clicks and visits to your website from your email invitation. However, unlike other ESPs, Net-Results tracks the recipients visits to your site far beyond their initial opening and viewing of your email, and provides individual contact information and site navigation each and every time they return. You can even set up a real time alert to let you know when someone has opened your email, visited your site, registered for your event, or opened your email and did not register for your event. You can even set up an alert to notify you when registrants return to your website in the future.

When using Net-Results to track your registration, you are not only collecting your data in a streamlined, easy to access fashion, you are also able to view your registrants return visits to your website, automate your responses when someone signs up for your event, and cross reference your website’s pre existing web form capture mechanism, to ensure you are capturing each and every registrant and visitor. Not only can you see your registrants contact information and navigation through your site once they sign up for your event, you can also see all of their future visits, whether its next week or next year, you have access to exactly what they’re looking for and when and how to contact them.

Additionally, mapping your registration forms to Net-Results eliminates time consuming and manual data transfer, because all of your registrant’s information is easily streamed into a list in Net-Results, and hopefully into your sales pipeline. Also, having all of your registrants in a list in Net-Results enables you to send them future email marketing campaigns, promotions, discounts, and nurture them to the point of sale.

Once you’ve mapped your registration forms to Net-Results, the next step is to set up your auto responder emails to confirm their registration and provide them with any further information regarding your upcoming event. It also gives them a chance to respond back with questions, comments or suggestions. By using the Net-Results auto responder functionality, you’re saving money and time with email invitations, automatic confirmations and 24/7 self-service online registration.

Quick Filter Persistence
You may filter the information you’re viewing in many areas of the Net-Results service. These filters, once applied, would normally persist across the application. It became apparent that this behavior was an inconvenience that caused extra work in many instances.  This behavior has now been altered such that an applied filter persists only on the page to which it was applied.

Email Canvas Behavior on Save
Clicking the “Save” button on the email canvas no longer returns you to the list of available emails.  Instead it notifies you that your changes have been saved and keeps you on the email canvas to continue the editing process.

Email Preferences & Test Email Improvements
You now have the ability to send a test email in text format, HTML format or both to up 25 recipients at a time. Furthermore, via the “Email Preferences” link in the left navigation in the “Emails” section of the Marketing Center, you may pre-define up to 25 test email recipients and whether to send their test emails as text, HTML or both.

Contact Import Error Reporting
When importing new contacts (via .csv file import or via API call) a “Contact Import Status Notification” email arrives upon completion of the import.  This notification email has been improved via the inclusion of an email attachment detailing any contacts for which there were import errors.  A separate attachment will detail any duplicate contacts that could not be imported.

Forward to a Friend
This has been a highly requested feature for quite a while.  Net-Results now includes Forward-to-a-Friend (F2AF) functionality. Adding a Forward-to-a-Friend link is easy to do.

When creating or editing an email, place the cursor on the email canvas where you’d like the F2AF link to appear.  From the “Personalized Fields” drop down list (at the upper left part of the email canvas) choose “Forward to a Friend”.  You’ll be presented with an option to alter the default text that will appear in the email. Click “Save” and your F2AF link will be made a part of your email.  You may then choose to edit the link’s placement, appearance or content in either the HTML Editor or the Source Code Editor.

View Email in a Browser
Sometimes it’s most convenient for an email recipient to view your email in a web browser.  Net-Results now offers a hosted version of each of your emails.  Adding a link to the hosted version is similar to adding a F2AF link.

When creating or editing an email, select “View Hosted Version” from the “Personalized Fields” drop down list. You’ll be presented with an option to alter the default text. Clicking “Save” will cause the link to the hosted version to appear centered at the top of your email (this is a best practice as the link to the hosted version appears immediately at the top of your email whether or not the recipient has downloaded images or not). Once the link has been inserted you may edit its placement, appearance or content to your liking in either the HTML Editor or the Source Code Editor.

Manual Unsubscribe
You may now unsubscribe a contact from within the Net-Results interface.

When viewing an individual contact you’ll now see a button on the lower right hand portion of the page labeled “Unsubscribe this contact from all future emails”. When you click this button you’ll be presented with a confirmation box allowing you to confirm your intention to unsubscribe the contact.  Once confirmed Net-Results will prevent you from emailing that contact in the future.  You’ll also be notified whenever you’re viewing an unsubscribed contact.
